Animal Husbandry Sub-Collection

History of the Sub-Collection

The core of this sub-collection consists of items collected for the Jubilee Land Exhibition of 1891, for the Czechoslavic Ethnographic Exhibition of 1895, items belonging to the Schwarzenberg museum of forestry and hunting at Ohrada, and finally collections of teaching models of machines and equipment from agricultural schools, especially from the former agricultural academy in Tábor. Over time, the National Museum of Agriculture had acquired further collection items or entire collections by donation, confiscation, escheat, or by collecting activities of museum’s workers at its various branches.
